happy friday!!! hope y’all are taking advantage of all the cute halloween decorations on sale this month… i know i am….
PHEW!! evening folks!! i managed to fix my computer (despite having no technological background) so it looks like we’re back on track!! i have a bit of catching up to do, but thank you so much for bearing with me!
what do you do when you’re writing characters saying phrases like “omg”, “gdi", “ugh, G-d”? since my writing is for a comic, sometimes i can get away with using acronyms - but usually it looks awkward/doesn’t read properly.
i know that in discussion, some argue that digital writing isn’t permanent so it’s okay, but not everyone feels that way (i don’t write it out, not even in texts). and even then - if/when i print my comic it’ll become a permanent/physical form.
Jewish writers - what are your feelings on this? even if you don’t have a solution, i’d love to hear your thoughts/experiences!
hi ghosts and ghouls! i’m so sorry about the radio silence here! i wish I could post the pages to make up for the last few weeks… they’re in the works, but personal and technological issues got in the way before they were finished 💀💦
the main continuing problem is that my computer’s getting super old, and goes so slowly (and buggily) that it can’t handle the large files that I work with (to make animated print-friendly pages, they gotta be pretty big) and it’s been getting worse and worse.. it freezes constantly, glitches during every stroke, and now refuses to play animations all together. i’m trying a bunch of different things to make it more manageable, but it got so unworkable these past two weeks that my workflow slowed to a stop. i’m hoping i can resolve it ASAP so i can get us back on track!!!
TDLR, embarrassing technical difficulties. 😔 thanks for all of your patience so far.. the plan for an update next week is still on, see you then!
hey folks!! I’m heading out to SPX (at table W70!!) this weekend, so there won’t be a page today - but there’ll be a double next week! 💀💖 see you then!!!
evening folks…!!! sorry for the night updates lately, still getting the hang of my schedule this semester!! here’s the new page.. also, i’ve changed the post format a bit to be more mobile friendly! happy haunting B)
update from last night!! 😊
this week’s delay is partially brought to you by the fact that i forget to draw their seatbelts until the last moment Every Single Time..but mainly because i just started my senior year.. thanks for your patience!! here’s the double update!!

North American Myths and Legends:
A collection focusing on stories old, new, and re-imaginedGreetings all!
Dandelion Wine Collective is excited to announce the open call for our anthology “North American Myths and Legends”, a collection exploring distinct perspectives surrounding the culture and mythos of what is now known as North America. This is a multimedia art, writing, and comics anthology that we will be kickstarting in July 2017 to print in full color!
What are we looking for?
Unique interpretations of the idea of a “North American myth.” We know about Paul Bunyan, the Alamo, urban legends, the cryptids and lore surrounding various areas of the continent, but what is something that you’ve experienced or learned that brought meaning to the place you’ve grown up in and know as home? There is an ever-changing relationship between the present and the past, tales that are brought in and evolved throughout generations of immigrant and native people.
Get creative, and think about the story you can bring to the table! Even if you are making a work of speculative fiction, try to source it back into your own experiences and find out how your unique viewpoint will set it apart. Take something new and study it, something old and revamp it, or bring us a story that has yet to exist, because only you can tell it!
We are looking for all sorts of personal narratives, fictional and nonfictional, that expand on the idea of what it means to be “American,” what makes a “myth”, and what makes a “legend.” This is a LGBT+ friendly (and encouraged!) book, and we at DWC seek to especially give a voice to and elevate stories from people of color.
Hey everyone! This is a project that Sunmi and I have been working on and planning for SO long, and we’re so excited to get it rolling!!!
All are welcome to submit, we wanna hear your stories!
seriously i am so excited for thisreblogs appreciated!
aaa thank you so much!!!! hmm, my two biggest influences are definitely craig mccracken and masaaki yuasa, followed by genndy tartakovsky and oosamu tezuka. im also very influenced by lots of people on tumblr, like qeti, hayoubi, toffany, rebekkadraws, charlattes, millionfish, and yurasart… i could name so many people!! but i honestly.. i draw a lot of inspiration from my friends!! working alongside others in art school exposes me to a lot of different approaches/styles and they all influence and inspire me every day : )
